Hi everyone!
First I'd like to thank you for visiting my site! It's always a pleasure. Apologies for not having all the functions of this site yet working, but I will do my best to make this site look good and totally functioning.
After a couple of weeks in Japan (and before that a couple of really busy weeks here in Finland), I have finally some time to go through some photos, videos and contacts. I hope I'm able to upload soon some interesting stuff on this site, too.
Our tour in Japan was great. The line-up was Mike del ferro on piano, Tuure Koski on bass and Ville Pynssi on drums. We played 8 concerts around Japan, and also played a few tunes as guests at Body and Soul Jazz Club in Aoyama, Tokyo. Such a cool place- strongly recommended!
Some highlights from the tour:
*Kobe Modern Jazz Club / organised by Dai Murata: A great, warm atmosphere and a huge success! We enjoyed a lot playing there, definitely looking forward to going back!
*Niigata Jazz Flash: a very old, established club with great masters' autographs on the walls. Very nice audience, great mood, and a fantastic hang on location after the gig! Thanks to the master of the house and Mikio Inoue san!
* Ibaraki Girl Talk: A beautiful club in the (oddly) vibrant city of Mito in Ibaraki. Super friendly owners and a most welcoming audience!
Me and Mike del Ferro also had the pleasure of meeting many people in Tokyo, outside the actual concerts. There was many, but a few here to mention: Hiroki Sugita, Mr. OK Jazz Tokyo, Shigeko Sekiguchi, Seigen Ono, Atsuko Yashima, Yasuhito Mori and others. It's always fantastic to visit Japan, but this time maybe even more than usual! For me it was probably 12th (or 11th) time in Japan, and I'm already hoping to go back soon!
For future tours and concerts:
I'm right in the middle of confirming lots of different things for the spring of 2015, and even for performances in Cuba for this December (!). I will let you know soon...
Thanks again for visiting my site, and hope to see you here again!
Peace,
Pekka
